This article provides tips and tricks for scoring good marks 90+ in Class 12 Chemistry in the board exam.

Preparation tips for Class 12 Chemistry – Syllabus and paper pattern:

There are three subdivisions such as Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry in Chemistry. Students should understand and study all the concepts of Chemistry to get a good score in the board exam. Students should refer to the NCERT Class 12 textbook of Chemistry to prepare for the board exam and most thoroughly all the concepts involved in Chemistry and is it necessary to get the in-depth knowledge of the subject.

Inorganic Chemistry:

This section contains periodic tables and P, D, and F blocks of elements and their properties so students should study all these thoroughly. It requires lots of learning and dedication to get into the concepts. General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements, P block, F block, and D block of elements, and coordination compound chapters are there in Inorganic Chemistry. There are 19 marks asked in the question paper from this section for the board exam.

Organic Chemistry:

Students should need to study a lot of compounds in organic chemistry. With full dedication and hard work, students will be able to score good marks in these chapters. Chapters such as Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones, and Carboxylic Acids, Organic Compounds containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Polymers, and Chemistry in Everyday Life are in the organic chemistry. There are a total of 28 marks asked for organic chemistry in the board exam.

Important reactions such as Phenols-Carboxylic Acid, Aldehyde-Ketone, 1,2,3 alcohols, and 1, 2, 3 amines and important name reactions such as Williamson, Wolff-Kishner, Hell-Volhard-Zelinsky, and Clemmensen Reduction are asked in the class 12 board exam. Named reactions are asked directly for 5 marks in the board exam. Students must practice all the reactions to get full marks in this section which results to get a high score in the board exam.

Physical Chemistry:

To get good marks in physical chemistry students should have mathematical calculation ability and formula application skills. Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, and Surface Chemistry are the topics in Physical chemistry. There are 23 marks asked for this section and has more weightage in the board exam. Students should understand and be well versed in the concepts first and solve the questions for each topic.

After knowing the syllabus and important topics for this subject, students should start their studies by preparing an excellent study plan with a timetable. So that students will be able to understand the concepts clearly and will get thorough knowledge in the subject.
