Best Study Schedule for Class 10 Science Exam Preparation

Class 10 is extremely important because it is the Class when you have your board exams. Science and Maths are particularly difficult and students find them challenging. They have to be fully tackled as they prove to be quite scoring too. Science is a subject that is subdivided into various subparts namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The subparts form whole subjects when you move to Class 11 and 12. Many concepts taught in Class 10 are expanded upon in Classes 11 and 12 so you have to make sure that your basics of Science are clear and you know the concepts well.

You have to form a very inclusive study plan to make sure you incorporate all the concepts that are taught in Class 10 and no concept is left out. You also have to make sure that you cover the whole syllabus as there is no scope for error since this is a board class. You have to efficiently manage your time as there are other subjects that you have to tend to as well.

A study schedule is quite subjective because people tend to manage their time differently and it is best if you form your personalized schedule for your Class 10 Science exam preparation. To make sure that you cover all the topics and aim for a better score, you have to keep these things in mind while preparing a study plan –

  1. Make effective notes – You will undoubtedly run across problems while taking notes. You must, however, provide all of the headings and subtopics, as well as a synopsis of all of the main ideas, so that you may study them before the exams. Science has a diverse variety. Hence, you’ll need to review your notes regularly and make alterations as your studies advance. You must also be able to frame and formulate the topics in a way that is simple and easy to understand and read. You should also arrange all the formulae, definitions, theorems, and derivations under one topic so that you can quickly review them before the exams.
  2. Time management – Class 10 is when there are major structural changes in the pattern of study that students follow. Students are anxious not just about subject classification, but also about the fact that simple theory is being replaced by more practical definitions of ideas, and utopic inquiries are being replaced by quantitative and reasoning issues. This requires prudence and precise time management. Students are required to divide their time for Science into three parts. It would be terrible to treat the three parts as a single entity.
  3. Practice with previous year question papers – Students are often confused about how to write answers when they see the questions for the very first time in the exam. To make sure that they don’t make any mistakes in the board examination, they should practice solving previous year question papers. They should have a very thorough practice with question papers and practising previous year’s question papers is a great means to do so. Students must practice the papers and check them. After checking, they must revise all the topics that they failed to cover or all the mistakes that they made in the question paper. Afterwards, they must analyze the paper and see how it is structured. They must also look at the NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Science that are written in an ideal way.
  4. Answer sheets should be well-structured – How effectively you study and write examinations will have a significant impact on your Class 10 Science score. To earn good marks, you must go over not only the full syllabus but also practice a range of questions to learn all the concepts discussed in class. Additionally, ensure that you write properly and cleanly. Draw all the diagrams using a pencil on your answer sheet and underline all the keywords. Before preparing your answers, you must carefully examine the question paper. You should read the questions carefully before answering them because there’s a chance they’ll trick you.
  5. Regular studying – Once your syllabus is complete, you must develop a healthy study habit in which you consistently study, rewrite and revisit the topics that you find hard. In middle school, we develop a habit of studying only before exams. However, this will not work in high school. Furthermore, because numerical problems in Science are new to you, you should begin practicing them as soon as you have mastered the concepts and formulae in that field. You should also write down and remember the equations and processes in the NCERT textbook since they will be used as key concepts or examples in the exams.
  6. Study from the NCERT – Your Class 10 board exam questions are asked primarily from the NCERT. Hence, you have to make sure that you know all the important concepts covered in it. You also have to make sure that you know every keyword that is written under every topic so that if you have to write on that particular topic you have some matter to expand on. The NCERT is something that should be considered as of prime importance due to the fact that it is highly based on the latest CBSE curriculum and the syllabus of CBSE revolves around it. You might refer to some reference books to gain a wider perspective on some topics but make sure that when you write your exams, you don’t write anything that is not given in the NCERT. Also, choose your terms and structure of answers the way it is in the NCERT textbook. This will ensure a greater probability of you getting full marks.

Everyone wants to get a great score in their Class 10 boards but only a few manage to do it. The difference lies in the fact that some plan ahead whereas some study at the last moment. The plan also varies from person to person and is completely subjective but one must make sure that they have one plan that suits them the best. If they keep in mind the points that are given here, there would surely be able to construct a plan that will help them study for the Science exam.
